How to build a simple wooden pergola
We used western red cedar to craft all the parts for this pergola. The machining and notching is done at the Baldwin Pergolas factory in Connecticut. You will see us drill the concrete and attach pergola mounting brackets. Make and stand a wall assembly and complete the pergola as the sun goes down.

Here we are on a beautiful rainy South Florida day building another ulitmate outdoor living area. It is a combination pergola and outdoor kitchen. There are some tips when building these outdoor kitchens. One of the things you want to do is make sure you leave enough space between your columns and your bar. The other thing is if you want to do a back splash, do it right, make sure it’s large enough to make an impact. Right now we’re working on the tiling work, using large tile and keeping the grout lines very very small. We’re also going through some other decisions as they arise, this happens a lot on custom work. Do you do a stone wrap around the column? The electric’s done, we’ve got the fan in.
