    I thought the same thing.I have been reading about insulation install a lot and seeing that the video shows to staple inside the stud is not effective. Staple on top of the studs and as you said this way it doesnt squeeze the edges of the insulation thus reducing it’s effectiveness.

    As a home energy rater, there are some things they do ni this video that we do not recommend. Inset stapling is a no-no, since it compresses insulation at the edges, meaning it will reduce the performance. Staple to the face of the studs instead. This will keep the insulation performing properly. Also, do not use the scraps around the windows and doors. Use a low-expanding spray foam instead – it is a much better air seal than compressed fiberglass insulation.
